Students in band will receive instruction in the basics of instrumental performance. They [the students] will improve their abilities technically and musically on their major instrument. Time will be spent on music theory and reading skills required to perform within an ensemble. A part of the course content includes public performance, which may include concerts, festivals, and small ensemble.

This is a self-taught course to learn to play guitar. The student will of at his/her own pace and learn basic guitar techniques through more advanced techniques. Students will be tested on skills and basic note reading. The goal of the class is to be able to buy a pop book of contemporary songs and be able to play the songs, accompanying oneself on guitar.
